August Edit: What I've Been Trying (and Loving)

1. Frank Body Creamy Face Scrub

There is no better compliment than “your skin is glowing!”. Oh, except for: “you nailed that rendition of ‘Man I feel like a woman’!” Equally good and sought after compliments.

I’ve been trying the Frank Body Sweet Cheeks skincare set for a little while now and have received the ultimate glowy compliment which means it MUST be working. The standout product for me has been the Creamy Face Scrub.

It’s gentle but thorough in buffing away dry, dead skin cells and my skin feels soft and smooth after. I somehow manage to get it up my nose every time I use it, but it’s worth it. I imagine the inside of my nostrils are equally as exfoliated as the out. All in all, it really has given me sweet cheeks (and sweet nostrils).

2. The Secret Life of Bee's by Sue Monk Kidd

I love books with great characters, particularly great female character. And oh girl, did I love Lily Owens! She’s the protagonist of The Secret Life of Bees as well as my hero.

Lily tells her own story of how she comes to find herself, a white girl, temporarily living with August Boatwright, a black woman, on her quest to learn more about her mother.

Her insights into the world around her are hilarious (and true) and I love this story of sisterhood.

All I can say is: read it, read it, read it, read it!

3. Muk 230 IR Straightener

I recently bought a muk and I muking love it!

My ghd crashed and I wasn’t sure which way to go. Do I get another ghd? Should I scrap the straightener and buy a wand? Should I get my teeth whitened (slightly off topic but a reoccurring thought of mine)?

A friend at work suggested muk and I’m oh-so-glad she did. It’s cheaper than a ghd, but just as smooth, hot and easy to manoeuvre.

Let’s just say recently I’ve been bothered to do my hair of a morning – which is really saying something.

4. It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer

If you want full, thick coverage, this is your gal. It will honestly cover anything. Except if you forget to shave, it won’t cover that.

A little goes a long way with this concealer, so make sure you don’t overdo it. Pop a bit onto the back of your hand, rub it in a touch then use that finger to apply. Finger application recommended.

Sephora stock this is mini’s which I recommend trying before for committing to a whole tube. (Always check the mini section near the counter before buying a new product – that’s my hot tip.)

5. Benefit Roller Lash

If you’re looking for a curling mascara, honestly this is your lucky day. I was genuinely AMAZED at how much Roller Lash curls your eyelashes. It’s incredible!

This is the perfect mascara if you’re looking for length and curl. It’s not as strong when it comes to volume, but it has to be the #1 best at curling. I think it must be in the wand and bristles. Either way, Benefit have nailed it with this one.
